2022 Audi RS3 Specs, Price, MPG & Key Features

The 2022 Audi RS3 is the sportiest variant of the company’s compact luxury car, with a 401-hp turbocharged five-cylinder engine. The new RS model, based on the four-door Audi A3 and the sportier S3 but endowed with additional power and better chassis tuning, competes with high-performance vehicles such as the BMW M2 coupe and Mercedes-AMG CLA45 sedan. Nonetheless, the RS3’s engine produces one of the most distinctive sounds in its class. The Audi’s finely creased sheet metal and elegant, well-appointed interior make it appealing to audiences that value both sportiness and luxury.

Engine and Performance

The RS3’s odd five-cylinder engine is among its most distinguishing features. Its unusual number of cylinders gives it a distinctive thumping sound that was especially appealing on the previous generation. The most recent model is once again a turbocharged 2.5-liter, but it now produces 401 horsepower. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that downshifts intentionally in response to minor throttle inputs, but is less forceful under heavy braking. Its basic all-wheel-drive system has a torque-vectoring, drift-mode rear differential. On the racetrack, the RS3 generated exciting noises, and its tenacious character was clear. In addition, it was composed and pleasant when being driven slowly on standard roads.

Interior & Comfort

The RS3 has similar passenger capacity as the A3 and S3, but its front seats are more aggressively bolstered. Audi equips its vehicles with dashboards that are everything but plain. A pair of high-mounted air vents face the driver and flank the binnacle that contains the digital gauges on the instrument panel. Additionally, the RS3 is available with a heads-up display. Below the touchscreen in the centre console are temperature controls with physical buttons and an integrated storage compartment. When the RS3 is in motion, paddles on the steering wheel may be used to change ratios as an alternative to the RS3’s awkward, stubby shifter.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The infotainment system seen in the A3 and S3 is carried over to the RS3, which has a touchscreen measuring 10.1 inches that is situated in the centre of the dashboard. Touch inputs, buttons on the steering wheel, and voice instructions are all valid ways to exercise control over it. Additionally, it comes with wireless support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In-dash navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot that requires a subscription, and wireless charging for compatible mobile devices are also included.
