2022 Cadillac XT5 Premium Luxury Specs, Price & Key Features

Cadillac has reduced Escalade-level luxury down to a smaller size with the 2022 XT5 premium luxury, but it has lost some of the flagship’s status in the process. It has a stylish and premium appearance, a well-equipped cabin that is quiet when travelling, and enough of room for four persons and their baggage. However, there is little space for substandard newcomers in the red-hot small luxury SUV market, and the shortcomings simply help to highlight more outstanding competitors such as the BMW X3 and the Genesis GV70. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine is standard, while a V-6 engine is available; neither engine is especially powerful or refined. Its ride on pockmarked roads may be unpleasant, and its stiff-leggedness doesn’t transfer to exhilarating handling like the Mercedes-AMG GLC-class or the Porsche Macan.

Engine and Performance

2022 Cadillac XT5

The typical turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 237 horsepower. The Cadillac’s V-6 is astonishingly quiet and thoroughly separated from the cabin in light-footed, day-to-day use. Under excessive throttle, though, the roughness of the larger engine becomes quite apparent. When faced with a twisting road, it can handle it confidently, albeit even with the optional adaptive suspension, it won’t make the hairs on the back of your neck rise up. Body roll is nicely controlled, and the vehicle feels solid and grounded, which is particularly helpful on lengthy highway drives. The steering is precise, but there is little visceral feedback—yet another chance to appeal to passionate drivers.

Interior & Comfort

2022 Cadillac XT5

The room for passengers is adequate, and the amenities are on par with what one would expect from a contemporary Cadillac. When seen separately, the materials that were utilised to construct the cabin give off an air of sophistication; nevertheless, when taken together, the design gives off the impression of being scattered and unfocused. The arrangement of the cabin is well thought out, and the seating posture is comfortable. Even high-end crossovers need to be functional, and this one achieves that goal with flying colours. This Caddy is able to effortlessly transition from a luxury liner to a cargo king because to its above-average storage capacity, an abundance of containers for stowing away smaller goods, and a rear seat that folds down simply. Even with the back seat occupied, the baggage area had sufficient space for a remarkable ten carry-on items. When it was folded up, it could accommodate 24 carry-ons.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Every single XT5 model is outfitted with high-tech connectivity features right out of the box, including a touchscreen display measuring 8.0 inches, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot as standard equipment. The information and entertainment system has user-friendly controls, such as a rotary controller. In addition, an improved Bose sound system is already on the market. In addition to the four USB ports that are spread out over the interior in handy locations for charging mobile devices, there is also a wireless inductive phone-charging pad positioned in the middle of the cabin between the two front seats.
