2022 Kia Stinger Specs, Price, MPG & Key Features
Kia’s large sports car, the 2022 Stinger, has lofty aspirations to compete with the automotive elites from Europe and comes close to achieving those goals. The Kia Stinger has a very comparable quality appearance and feel in comparison to its competitors, such as the Audi A5 Sportback and the BMW 4-series Gran Coupe. In addition, it provides a lot of driving verve, which makes it an excellent choice for enthusiasts who are on a budget. The outstanding Genesis G70 sedan serves as the basis for the Stinger’s underpinnings, but the Stinger has a more spacious cabin, a bigger luggage compartment, and a hatchback liftgate while having the roofline of a fastback. Both the regular engine, a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower, and the optional engine, a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V-6 with 368 horsepower, are both powered by turbocharging. Standard drivetrain configuration is rear-wheel drive, however all-wheel drive may be ordered for those who wish it.

Engine and Performance
Both a new 300-horsepower 2.5-liter turbo-four and a 368-horsepower twin-turbo 3.3-liter V-6 are offered as turbocharged powertrains for the 2022 Kia Stinger. Both of these powertrains are turbocharged. Although we haven’t put the new engine through its paces yet, the performance of the V-6 is so exhilarating that it gets our enthusiasts’ hearts racing. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which, in our experience, results in swift changes and is unobtrusive when allowed to shift on its own without human intervention. During track testing, the Stinger GT achieved 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds, demonstrating its mastery of straight-line speed. When driven normally, it behaves appropriately; yet, when subjected to extreme conditions, it was unable to maintain the same level of coolness as its more experienced competitors. When it comes to stopping quickly, the strong Brembo brakes that come standard on all GTs are a clear winner. They fit in well within this category of high-performance sedans. The Stinger is not as spectacular as other vehicles in this or any other class since it does not have Brembo brakes and rolls on all-season tyres with less grip.

Infotainment and Connectivity
Kia’s infotainment system, which is known as UVO and is utilised to excellent advantage in the Stinger, comprises of a touchscreen measuring either 8.0 or 10.3 inches in combination with practical tactile buttons. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both included as standard features, as is a music system with six speakers. Kia provides a multitude of other technological improvements in addition to the 15-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system that may be upgraded by audiophiles. These upgrades include a wireless smartphone charging pad and in-dash navigation.
Fuel Economy
The rear-wheel-drive, four-cylinder 2022 Stinger has the best predicted fuel efficiency, with 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the interstate, according to the EPA. Estimates place the fuel economy of the more powerful V-6 engine at 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the interstate. This is particularly true when the vehicle is equipped with all-wheel drive.
