2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Full Review, Pricing & Specs
Last updated on February 16th, 2022 at 05:53 am
If you want the kind of luxury and prestige that only a Range Rover can give you, but you don’t have enough money to buy one, the 2022 Range Rover Sport is a good option. It has a lower price and few compromises. Most people don’t use the Range Rover Sport to its full potential. All models come with all-wheel drive and Land Rover’s signature off-road ability, which is a luxury in itself even if most people don’t use the Range Rover Sport to its full potential. A turbocharged inline-six gives the Sport enough power to drive around town or merge onto the highway. The Sport’s luxury-lined cabin is relaxed and spacious, except for the third row, which only has enough room for kids.
For 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, What’s new?
This year’s Range Rover Sport lineup has no diesel or plug-in hybrid engines. Only the turbocharged inline-six, which comes in two outputs, is left. The other thing that has altered is that now there are more USB-C ports for charging and connecting devices.
It has a mild hybrid turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six gas engine, making 395 horsepower. Our favorite is the HST, which has that engine. We also like the HST’s Sporty looks, its black roof, and new interior features, like a faux-suede-wrapped steering wheel and seat trim. The 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport price is $ 72,250.

2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Configurations
It comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, Land Rover’s great all-wheel-drive system, and an excellent eight-speed automatic transmission in every 2022 Range Rover Sport. The engine is helped by a 48-volt hybrid system in this car, making 355 horsepower. However, we prefer the more powerful 395-hp version, only found on the HST version. It’s very smooth and has a lot of power. In our tests, the HST went from 0 to 60 mph in 6.0 seconds. Land Rover says it can go 140 mph. People who want more power should check out the 518-hp Range Rover Sport Supercharged, which we’ll discuss in a separate review.

Real-World MPG and Fuel Economy
Range Rover Sport’s engines get 19 mpg city and 24 mpg highway, no matter how much power they make. It is right in the middle of six-cylinder versions of the BMW X5 and the Genesis GV80 in terms of how well it runs. Go to the EPA’s website if you want to learn more about Range Rover Sport’s gas mileage.
2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport interior
Range Rover Sport is almost the same size as a full-size Range Rover. Both SUVs have the same 115-inch chassis, which gives the Range Rover Sport more space in the back than many of its competitors. It is because both SUVs have the same wheelbase. A third-row seat in the Range Rover Sport is smaller and more kid-friendly than in the Range Rover. Thus, the car can seat seven people instead of five. If you drive a long way in this car, its seats are substantial and supportive, and the air-conditioning vents and controls for the seats in the back come with the car as standard. The rear seats can be heated. The build quality is excellent, with soft surfaces and controls that look and feel like they cost a lot. There’s a lot of room behind the Range Rover Sport’s second row of seats for things. There are 28 cubic feet of storage space behind the second row of seats. When the Rover’s second-row reclines, it’s easy to fold it down, giving it 59 cubic feet of extra space. It is about average for the medium-sized luxury SUV class.
There is a lot of information and connectivity
Several years ago, the Range Rover Sport was redesigned in a big way. Two giant 10.0-inch touchscreens control the climate and infotainment systems. People can’t deny that the design is modern and appealing. It’s also easy to use because it has simple menus and clear graphics. On the other hand, the infotainment system is slow to respond to user inputs. If you want to use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, you don’t have to pay extra. There’s also a 12.3-inch screen in front of the driver that shows a fully customizable digital gauge cluster.
There are safety and driver-assistance features
Land Rover has a lot of good driver-assist technology, but many of them, like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, aren’t included in the SUV price. You can go to two websites to learn more about the Range Rover Sport’s crash tests: the NHTSA -National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Coverage for Warranty and Maintenance
The warranty for the Range Rover Sport is about average because of its class, but it doesn’t include free maintenance. If you buy a car from three of its main rivals, the BMW X5 and the Volvo XC90, you get three years or 36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance.

FAQs
Will the Range Rover Sports change in 2022?
We’re getting the best look yet at the new Range Rover Sport’s styling with these new spy shots. People who work for Land Rover will soon make a new version of their Range Rover Sport. These new pictures of the car, taken while it was being tested, give us a good idea of how it will appear when it sells in the UK at the end of this year.
There are a lot of cars that Land Rover’s new car will compete with, like the BMW X5 and the electric Audi e-Tron from Audi. By moving the Range Rover Sport onto its new Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA). It can run on 48-volt mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric engines. They give us the best look at the following Range Rover Sport style. Evolution: It has the same rough shape as the previous model, but it has a few design elements from the new Range Rover, like flush-fit door handles and headlight clusters that go all the way around and onto the front wings.
There may be less of a challenge with the Sport’s design than with the Range Rover. In the past, the Range Rover Sport was one of the brand’s best-selling cars. The previous version of the car sold almost twice as many as the full-size Range Rover. They were also the second best-selling car for Jaguar Land Rover’s recent financial results, behind only the Evoque.
How much will the Range Rover 2022 cost?
The new 2022 Land Rover Range Rover costs $104,000 and $163,500. There is a new 2022 Range Rover that costs $72,250. The Land Rover Range Rover isn’t just a high-end full-size SUV.
Will the Range Rover Sport be redesigned, or Will the Range Rover change in 2023?
We can see this when we look at the recently redesigned models from Land Rover. They look a little more conservative than other Land Rover cars. The 2023 Range Rover looks like its predecessor but with a more interesting back end. The second-generation models of the Range Rover Evoque and the Discovery Sport also show where the company is going. The result is an SUV that has been changed in a way that isn’t new. For this digital makeover, the SUV has slimmer headlights and grilles and a more simple LED signature. The bumper intakes are spread across the car’s width, not three separate places.
Another thing: The roof goes down a little toward the back as it did before. The traditional clamshell hood is still there, and the rendering even has the Velar-style pop-out door handles. Kolesa.ru even added the new wheels based on the spy photos. So, what do they think about the back? The site says the future Range Rover Sport should have a strip on top of the tailgate that holds lights and other decorations. The license plate holder on the test car’s bumper is also shown in the picture.
What do we know about the SUV so far? 2023 Range Rover Sport will be built on the same MLA-Flex platform as the full-size version. The car’s engine options will probably be the same as those of its bigger brother, which has a range of mild hybrid six-cylinder gas and turbodiesel units. An electric car is also in the lineup. It’s also possible that the V8 in the vehicles is from BMW. If the SVR model has an eight-cylinder engine, it might do well.
Is the Range Rover Sports reliable?
Sadly, Range Rovers aren’t known for being long-term cars. It’s the opposite because used cars are known for “typical British engineering,” which means leaks, broken down cars, and other mechanical problems and weird malfunctions. The Land Rover Range Rover Sport scores 65 out of 100 in reliability.
Conclusion
Even though the 2022 Land Rover Range Rover has blue-collar roots that go back more than 50 years, its high-end interior and first-class exterior are meant to appeal to wealthy, white-collar buyers. When you buy this leather-lined limo, it comes with a price tag that starts at almost six figures. It has been a long time in the making. The cabin has high-end features like leather, wood, and thickly-piled carpeting. There’s also a lot of technology, of course, too. It means that buyers can choose from a turbocharged inline-six engine or a roaring 523 horsepower V-8 engine. All models come with an air suspension that can be raised to give the car more ground clearance. The fact that you could drive your Range Rover off the paved road is a luxury. To make things even weirder, this new generation of Range Rover is coming out in 2022, and it will be sold until there isn’t any more stock.
