2022 Nissan Armada Specs, Price, MPG & Features

The 2022 Nissan Armada isn’t as well-known as its domestic competitors, and it doesn’t come in a long-wheelbase version. However, savvy shoppers will be surprised by how luxurious it is. Independent rear suspension is not unusual in this segment anymore, but the Nissan’s ride is still one of the quietest and smoothest. Even though some parts look a little old, the cabin is quiet and comfortable, which adds to its unexpectedly high-end feel. The most expensive and fancy Platinum trim makes up for this with an interior that would be at home in a real luxury pickup truck. Every model has a list of infotainment and active safety features that people like. The Armada moves with authority and confidence thanks to a powerful 400-hp V-8 engine and a smooth automatic transmission. Unfortunately, the engine wastes a lot of gas, and the big SUV can wander when driving on the highway. Still, the 2022 Armada’s charming qualities make up for its flaws.

Engine and Performance

The sole propulsion system available for the Armada is a mighty 5.6-liter V-8 engine mated to a refined seven-speed automated gearbox. When running on premium gasoline, the engine is capable of producing up to 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. Each model is capable of towing up to 8500 pounds and may couple with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The completely independent suspension of the Armada allowed it to drive remarkably well despite its massive proportions. However, the Tahoe and the Yukon, both of which are smaller and more agile than the Armada, provide superior handling.

Interior and Comfort

2022 Nissan Armada

The Armada has a sophisticated exterior that is complemented by a comfortable and roomy interior. The majority of the materials used inside are both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, and the cabin is well-insulated against noise from the outside. The Armada features three rows of seating and has the capacity to hold up to eight passengers. However, this number may be reduced to seven if the optional captain’s chairs are used in the second row. These fold up simply and swiftly using a handle that springs the seat forward; however, manually adjusting the seat is need to be done after folding. The power-folding third row may be adjusted using buttons located either in the cargo compartment or on the armrests of the third row. Even when contrasted with more modern competitors, the Armada has an air of sophistication and offers generous legroom in the third row. The quilted seat surfaces and faux open-pore wood trim found in the top-of-the-line Platinum model help to create an atmosphere that is reminiscent of a luxury SUV.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Each Armada comes standard with a huge touchscreen infotainment system measuring 12.3 inches, along with rotary buttons for adjusting the volume and tuning. The device protrudes from the top of the centre stack and features built-in navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio (which requires a subscription), standard Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, as well as wireless charging for smartphones. The SL model, which is in the middle of the lineup, comes equipped with a Bose audio system that has 13 speakers, and the Platinum trim, which is at the very top of the lineup, has a rear-seat entertainment system that has two displays that are 8.0 inches each.

Fuel Economy

2022 Nissan Armada

Because every Armada is equipped with the identical V-8 engine and automatic transmission, the Nissan is significantly less efficient in terms of fuel consumption compared to the vast majority of its competitors. According to projections made by the EPA, the rear-wheel-drive model will achieve a fuel economy of 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the interstate. Both of these figures drop by one mile per gallon after all-wheel drive is factored in.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features

Every Armada comes equipped with a variety of driver aid technologies as standard equipment. Key features are:

  • Standard automated emergency braking
  • Standard lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist
  • Standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert
